Secondary Special Needs Teaching Assistant

A secondary SEND school based in Aylesbury is looking to for an experienced special needs Teaching Assistant to join their team with an immediate start.

This school is an OFSTED rated ‘good’ school caters for secondary aged students, between 11 and 19 and learners with moderate learning difficulties (MLD). A popular school among past candidates, this is a really exciting opportunity to join a skilled team at a happy school where career progression is available.

The right candidate will have experience in working with MLD and will be familiar with KS3 and 4 curriculum. Lots of students take vocational courses such as sportsmusiccarpentry, and farming (to name a few). The school boasts on site animals and links to local businesses which support apprenticeships for the students.

Throughout the academic year the school encourage students to take part in multiple events held at the school such as sports dayssummer music festival and Christmas plays. The school even has a therapy dog called Judith that the students can freely interact with and even take on walks during throughout the day.

To be successful in this role you will need to be confident in supporting learners within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You will be able to ensure every pupil can learn, develop and make progress. This is an ongoing, long term position and a permanent position is likely to be offered, if successful.
